Proxima Centauri b is 4.2 light years away from the Sun and it is the closest exoplanet to Earth. The planet is so close that NASA must take advantage of this opportunity to explore. This planet may experience such intense solar winds that it would blow any possible atmosphere away. It is also so close that it may experience tidal locking which will cause one side to be extremely warm while the other is extremely cold. There is also a slim chance water will exist on the planet.
